Iodine retention in three types of iodised salt viz., powdered salt, white crystal and brown crystal salt was estimated at
an interval of 15 days following commonly practised storage methods i.e., glass jar with lid, plastic jar with lid, earthernware
pot with lid, cut open salt packet and salt pack as it is. Highest percent retention of iodine irrespective of type of salt
was noticed in intact salt packet (97.19%). The iodine retention was above 80% in other methods—88.41% retention in cut open
salt packet, 84.72% in glass jar, 82.86% in earthern pot and 80.85% in plastic jar. Powdered salt had maximum iodine retention
(91.16%) followed by brown crystal salt (84.24%) and white crystal salt (76.71%). Even though the iodine content was found
to decrease during storage, the powdered salt and brown crystal salt had iodine in the recommended level. On the contrary,
white crystal salt contained only half (7 ppm) that recommended at the retail level (15 ppm). 相似文献

目的:探讨PubMed检索的主要特点以提高文献的查准率。方法:分别举例介绍PubMed数据时限、超级主题词表、查询词自动转换、主题词检索、临床课题查询、Entrez—PubMed、PubMed Central(PMC)。结果:PubMed检索,除MEDLINE外,还包括PREMEDLINE和OLDMEDLINE,其最早的文献可追溯到1951年。通过查询词转换和匹配及其临床课题研究范围的灵敏度和专指度的选择,使检出的文献更加切题。PubMed还通过与全球NCBI搜索引擎Entrez链接,可互查PMC、核酸序列、蛋白质序列、大分子结构、全基因组、生物体分类学、人类盂德尔遗传及MEDLINE数据库等。检出的记录包括文献条目和摘要,链接后可获取出版商网址上的全文及其在PMC中的免费期刊(160种)原文。结论:PubMed为一般的医学工作者检索文献提供的服务比MEDLINE光盘要多。 相似文献

It has been suggested that cannabimimetic drugs could be of interest in the treatment of several nervous disorders. Thus, it is important to analyse the distribution and properties of cannabinoid (CB) receptors directly in human brain. As postmortem human tissue is subjected to the effects of several biological variables, we have analyzed by autoradiography the influence of age, postmortem delay and freezing storage period (at -25 degrees C) on two parameters corresponding to cannabinoid CB1 receptors in human frontal cortex: receptor density and degree of activation of G-proteins ([35S]GTPgammaS assays). A significant decrease in the amount of both receptor density and agonist-stimulated G-protein activity was observed with age, revealing a mean reduction of about 10% per decade. In contrast, no significant correlations were found with postmortem delay either for CB1 receptors density or functionality. Finally, both parameters (receptor density and [35S]GTPgammaS response) were significantly reduced with freezing storage period at -25 degrees C in frontal cortical layers. Non-linear analysis of these data yielded values between 12 and 24 months of storage for a 50% reduction. In conclusion, when studying CB1 receptor properties in human brain samples, a careful analysis (and matching) for variables such as age and freezing storage period has to be carried out. 相似文献

The aim of this study was to compare the image quality of storage phosphor plates with that in screen-film radiograms in
mammography. Two anode/filter combinations were also compared – Mo/Mo and W/Rh. S Storage phosphor plates, generation IIIN
(Fuji, Tokyo, Japan) and a conventional screen-film system (Kodak, Rochester, N. Y.) were evaluated using two mammographic
units. One unit had a 0.6-mm focal spot, an anode/filter combination of Mo/Mo and no grid (AMo); the other had a 0.3-mm focal spot, a grid, and two possible combinations of anode/filter Mo/Mo (BMo) and W/Rh (BW). Simulated tumours and microcalcifications were randomly positioned in an anthropomorphic breast phantom (RMI model 165,
no. 210–009, Radiation Measurements Inc., Middleton, Wisconsin). The image quality was evaluated using a modified version
of receiver operating characteristics analysis. Five observers evaluated 300 films and 300 hard copy images each. Radiation
doses were also determined. The image quality of the conventional screen-film images was significantly better than that for
the storage phosphor plate mammograms. The BMo system rated best, for the detection of both tumours and microcalcifications, although it was not significantly different
from the BW system. Systems BMo and BW rated significantly better than the AMo system for both image receptors studied. The mean absorbed dose was twice as high for the BMo system as for the AMo and BW systems for both conventional and digital technique. The mammograms produced with the screen-film combination gave a significantly
better detectability than the storage phosphor plates used in this study. Substantial dose reduction could be achieved using
an anode/filter combination of W/Rh instead of Mo/Mo with no significant loss of information in the images.

In the past decade, the number of patients demanding rhinoplasty has increased, and this has increased the use of grafts.
Although different materials are used as grafts, cartilage is the most popular one. In secondary rhinoplasties the need for
cartilage is very frequent. The most suitable cartilage grafts are the ones extracted during primary rhinoplasty. These grafts
are disposed of after the operation and in a secondary operation, grafts are obtained from a new donor site.
In our department, the surplus cartilages obtained during primary rhinoplasties of the patients who are thought to be probable
secondary rhinoplasty candidates are stored in a postauricular pocket after their volumes are measured and marked down. In
the secondary operations the volume of the grafts are measured again and the grafts are used.
We have found out that there is no significant difference between the initial and secondary volumes of lower lateral cartilages
(3.6% of initial volume is lost), but the difference between the initial and secondary volumes of septal cartilages is significant
(6.9% of initial volume is lost), and the stored cartilages are sufficient qualitatively and quantitatively for the secondary

Pathological, histochemical, ultrastructural and biochemical studies on 4 cases of I-cell disease are reported. These studies support a lysosomal defect with deficiency of many acid hydrolases and storage of both glycolipids and mucopolysaccharides within lysosomes. The clinical, pathological and biochemical spectra of I-cell disease in these 4 cases suggest three distinct nosologic entities: a prototype, a malignant infantile form and a more benign juvenile type. Consanguinity was present in one of the cases.
